My name is Jamie Farough and I am your board member for Zone 7.
I work to be an advocate for our students, teachers and parents. Our immediate concerns on the board this year have been the pandemic plan and the budget.
I will continue to advocate according to my platform below.
The school board is your board and you should hear your voice and concerns echoed there.
As a parent, I know that constituents need transparency and good communication from their elected board member.
Parents and teachers know these students the best and that input is a valuable resource, not to be overlooked in decision making.
Thank you for allowing me to serve as your board member.
I have been married to Andy for 13 years, who works as a lineman for a neighboring city. We have two daughters, who currently attend Wilson County Schools.
I have been a resident of Wilson County for all my life.
I am a 1999 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School.
I continued my education by obtaining two degrees in Nursing and multiple certifications.
Most recently, I obtained my CCM. I currently work as a Nurse Case Manager, providing education and assistance to our elderly and disabled population.
Creative problem solving is a case manager’s required skill set that will serve well in this board seat.
I currently serve as a PTSO officer for Wilson Central High School. I am very involved in my church and most recently led our team for Sherry’s Run.
I am a strong advocate by nature. Advocacy is a cornerstone of my profession and also something that I have taken on for my community.
I run a Facebook community page called "FixSR109". This page has been and continues to be utilized as a way to document wrecks and demand action.
HWY-109 is slated to be completed soon. I attribute this progress to a community coming together for change to make things safer and better.
I hope to be able to continue being an advocate for this area, families and teachers by serving on the school board in Zone 7.
